Rob brings over 35 years of experience in all areas of public accounting. He specializes in accounting, assurance, tax, corporate structuring, and business advisory services including purchases and sales of businesses, for owner managed private enterprises and entrepreneurs.

About: Catherine brings over 24 years of accounting, tax and advisory experience.   She specializes in investment accounting and tax compliance helping high-net-worth individuals optimize their tax positions and preserve wealth.

Catherine has a broad range of experience working with various entities including partnerships, trusts, charities, corporations and proprietorships. Along with providing full-service accounting and tax compliance, Catherine also supports her clients with compensation strategies, charitable giving, and estate and tax planning.

Catherine’s dedication has led to building long-term relationships with clients and in doing so she has become their trusted advisor for all tax and wealth preservation matters.

Education and experience: Catherine graduated from McMaster University in Honors Commerce specializing in accounting with a minor in economics. After graduating she worked at a national firm based in Toronto and then a medium sized firm in Mississauga.  Catherine obtained her CPA, CA in 2003 and completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program in 2005.  To continue to stay current, she completes various professional development courses, along with Part 1 and 2 of the In-Depth Tax Program in 2018 and 2019.

Personal Life: Catherine values quality time with her loved ones. When not engaged in her professional pursuits, she can often be found surrounded by family, creating lasting memories. She also finds joy either on the curling rink or the volleyball court enjoying the camaraderie of her teammates.

About:  Cynthia provides assurance, accounting, tax and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses to help overcome challenges and support their success. She has a broad range of experience working with clients of various sizes in numerous industries, including manufacturing, distribution, technology, construction, real estate and professional services. She builds strong relationships with all her clients through her proactive and personable approach, including obtaining an in-depth understanding of the client and their operations and communicating to them in a practical and meaningful way.

 

Cynthia is actively involved within the firm through recruiting and mentoring new staff, being a quality management resource and implementing process improvements.

 

Education: Cynthia graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies, Specialization in Finance and Administration degree. After graduation, she worked for a national firm in Toronto and then a small firm in Oakville. Cynthia obtained her CPA, CA designation in 2011 and joined Gilmore & Company LLP in 2015.

 

Personal Life:  Cynthia and her husband reside in the GTA with their 2 young daughters. When she isn’t chasing after her kids, she enjoys being active, travelling, and discovering new restaurants.

Education:Steve obtained his B. Math (Hons) from the University of Waterloo in 1989 and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1991. Steve has been a member of Gilmore & Company since being a Co-op student during his university years and has been a partner since January 1, 1996.

Personal Life:Steve is active in his son’s hockey team and his daughter’s musical pursuit playing the violin. Steve loves spending time at the family cottage both in the summer months and the winter months, boating and snowmobiling.

Education: Sean began working as a co-op student with Gilmore and Company during his time at Brock University.  He obtained his Bachelor of Accounting at Brock University in 2007 and went on to complete his Masters of Accountancy in Taxation in 2009. Sean has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 2004 and received his CA designation in 2008.

 

Personal Life: Sean has built his reputation on his dedication to each client’s success.  He works to provide every client with an exceptional experience through personalized service.  Sean is also actively involved in mentoring and motivating young professionals within the firm.  He is involved in many outside activities and enjoys participating in firm functions, as well as many sports including hockey and golf.  In his spare time, he also enjoys travelling with his wife and two daughters.

John obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at York University in 1978. He trained with H.R. Doane and Company (now Grant Thornton) and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1981. John joined Gilmore & Company in 1982 and became a partner a few years after.
